Landmark Dodge's 6th Annual MOPAR Southern Classic Car Show.

This year’s Landmark 6th Annual MOPAR Southern Classic Car Show sponsored by Landmark Dodge Chrysler Jeep and Landmark’s SPEEDFACTORY was the biggest and best ever.

We made this a two-day event packed with excitement and fun for MOPAR lovers and their families. Hundreds of classic Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, Imperial... and even a few Jeeps entered. Parts and accessory vendors were boundless at the swap meet and just like Alice’s Restaurant, you could get anything you wanted at this event. There were drawings, prizes, arcade games, kid's events, vendors, great food, music and much more.

Having outgrown the facilities at the Landmark dealership, on Mt Zion Blvd in Morrow, last year the event moved to the big and beautiful Atlanta Motor Speedway venue in Hampton, GA just about 20 miles south of the city.

“Show and Shine your Ride” was the theme from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday plus there were tons of parts available from swap meet vendors to finish any classic MOPAR project.

Then we raced into the night at the “HOTlanta MOPAR Street Challenge” with 1/8 mile Heads-up Racing and Grudge Matches sponsored by Landmark’s SPEEDFACTORY. They started at 5:30 p.m. and went into the night until everyone was “Grudge Free”. There were several classes to size up the competition giving everyone in attendance a chance to get the fuel pumping through their veins.

Then it was “Show Time” again on Saturday Morning as car clubs from all over the U.S. spent the day “one-upping ”each other with custom car tales. Food, fun, games, clowns and face painting for the kids rounded out the family fun. Classic vehicles entrants were allowed to “do a few laps” on the speedway track in their babies just to see what they could do.

Judging was tough and thorough, these cars got the once over, two or three times. Entries in 37 categories showed some of the finest vintage and current MOPARs out there. Vendors and sponsors were in abundance too. If it was parts, accessories, trailers, or whatever, you could find it at this show. Man, it was somethin’.

The Awards Ceremony at 4 PM on Saturday separated the men from the boys but everyone had a great time regardless of who took home the trophies. So, what are the show promoters doing now that it’s over…why, already planning for an even bigger and better show next year!
